Shopping & Recipe Mobile App
Helping people to manage their grocery list and discover quick and easy recipes
Mobile App Prototype
For users who are looking to discover new and exciting recipes that they can easily make with the items in their fridge, Set the Table helps them stay organized with their grocery lists and manage the items in their fridge, so they always have what they need to whip up a healthy and delicious meal.
Problem: As a young adult aspiring to live a healthy lifestyle, I often found myself spending time trying to plan my next meal. I wanted to use the foods I already had in my fridge to prepare quick, easy and healthy meals.
Solution: This mobile app provides users with the ability to easily ‘set the table’; you can:
Keep track of items in your fridge
Discover new recipes based on preferences
Prepare a grocery list for your next shop

About this project
Mobile App Home Screen
When designing the most important screen (the Home Screen), we aimed to provide the user with enough information to take the next desired action, without overwhelming them.
At a quick glance, users can see the items they have in their fridge. They also get a summary of the items on their grocery list and any changes to their list.
From here, a user can choose to either go to their fridge to see what other items they have there, open their grocery list or view recipes available on the app.
The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen allows the user to easily move to other sections of the app, including their cookbook where they can view saved recipes.
User Experience Design
Colour Scheme & Style Guide
When developing the colour scheme and style guide, we selected colours that would make the user feel excited about cooking.
A cool gray / green tone was used to create a calming effect, while bright accent colours were used to bring some energy.
Although the fonts in the logo were fun and creative, we wanted to ensure that it was easy for users to read the detailed descriptions within each component. We also relied on bright images to enhance the user experience.
